Circle Square is a community-focused salon and barbershop for people who want their personal vision of style and wellness to matter.
Circle Square is a bright and airy environment where we listen intently and use our expertise to turn your ideas into reality. We’ve learned from our years behind the chair that most people know a lot about their own hair and skin – even when they don’t know how to put it into words. That’s why every appointment starts with an in-depth consultation to help us understand where you are coming from and where you want to go.
But that's not all – we're thrilled to announce that we've expanded our reach with a second location, Triangle Hair Studio, just one block away. As a sister salon to Circle Square, Triangle Hair Studio shares our commitment to excellence and our passion for personalized care.

Our Philosophy
At Circle Square, our approach to style is different: We want to you to come as you are.
We’re not here to encourage you to try to look like a supermodel or celebrity—the world is already too full of instructions for how to look like someone else. We won’t dictate how you should wear your hair (though we will gladly share our opinions, if you ask). Our job is to help you define “looking good” on your own terms and give you the tools, techniques and information you need to get there.
A message from the founder
I believe that deep down everyone feels the way I feel: We all hate being implicitly told that we won’t look good if we don't follow the rules, or that we look good today but it won't last, or that we COULD look good if only we would try harder or spend more time at the gym or buy the right product or... are you bored yet? I know I am. I want everyone to feel free to experiment, try new things, or simply stay in their comfort zone. I want every person to be themselves and to find their own truth in self-expression. In creating Circle Square, I sought out a group of passionate, like-minded people who want to work every day, from a place of open-mindedness and respect, to redefine “looking good.” Because style should be fun, and if we do it right, it has the power to set us free. — Jess Avalon

Effective June 1, 2023, a credit card will be required to reserve ALL appointments at Circle Square Salon. Our stylists work on commission. To protect their livelihoods, we ask that you please give us a 24-hour notice for all cancellations or reschedules. If a 24-hour notice is not provided, this may result in a 50% charge of your scheduled service.
We book our services based on the length of hair and amount of time needed. Please let us know if there are any special requests for your service.
Let us know your pronouns so we can be sure to create the safest, most comfortable space for you while you are here!

We kindly ask that you give us a 24-hour notice for all cancellations or reschedules. We understand emergencies come up, and we will do our best to accommodate you but please give us as much notice as possible. If a 24-hour notice is not honored, we reserve the right to charge 50% of your scheduled service total. Same-day appointment changes may also result in a 50% charge of the original scheduled service to compensate your stylist for their time.

All no-show appointments will result in a FULL CHARGE of the scheduled service total.

We understand that life gets busy. We all run late sometimes! Our stylists book very tightly, so it is important for you to be on time so they can do their best work. This also helps our stylists stay on time. If you arrive 10 minutes past your scheduled appointment time, we will try our best to accommodate you, but it may be necessary to reschedule or reduce your service.

We want you to love your hair! If something isn’t working for you after your visit, please contact the salon within 14 days of your appointment. We always offer complimentary adjustments — we will do whatever we can to make it right for you!

If you are not satisfied with the product(s) we recommended for you, please return it to the salon at your earliest convenience. We can provide you with a full refund or another product that works better. There is no time-limit, we want you to love what you buy!

We love animals but we kindly ask that you refrain from bringing pets to your appointment. Service animals are always welcome. Please let us know if you need special accommodations for your service animal.

Street parking is always available. Please be aware there is no parking on Friday mornings from 8-9am for street cleaning. We also share the parking lot with Starbucks + our sister salon, Triangle Hair Studio, located 1 block away at 400 N. Robinson Street. You are welcome to park there.

The safety and well-being of our staff, clients and community is our highest priority. We are dedicated to creating a safe, healthy and positive environment for you. If you are experiencing symptoms of illness, we ask that you kindly reschedule your appointment.
If you have been exposed to COVID-19 or tested positive, we ask that you reschedule for 2+ weeks out. If you are vaccinated, masks will be optional until further notice. If you are not comfortable with an unmasked service, please do not hesitate to ask your stylist to wear a mask, and they will be happy.
For our staff, we require everyone to stay home if they are experiencing symptoms of illness and we also ask that they have a negative COVID test before returning to work.
We value simple, uncomplicated products that are easy to use and understand. The brands we choose to partner with reflect these priorities, and share our commitment to thoughtful design and ethical business practices.
